Crown Rd involved the restoration of an early 1900s heritage frontage, with a contemporary extension built behind it across three levels. The works paired restored 100-year-old timber floorboards with heated polished concrete floors, floor-to-ceiling glazing and clean modern detailing. The interiors are deliberately understated, using concrete, timber and glass to suit the coastal setting.
The completed home includes three bedrooms, two bathrooms with underfloor heating, self-contained guest accommodation on the lower level and a lock-up garage with rear lane access. A large ocean-view balcony and rooftop terrace look across Freshwater Beach and the coastline.
